Keep your account secure

Check where you are signed in to Alcova, sign out of devices you no longer use, and delete your account if you leave.

To open these settings, open Settings and select Security. See Open settings.

See where you are signed in

Active Sessions lists every browser where you are signed in to Alcova. Each row shows the browser, the device, the location and when you last used it. The browser you are using now is marked This device.

If you do not recognise a session, sign it out.

Sign out of another device

  1. In Active Sessions, find the device and select Sign Out.

  2. Check the device named in the dialog, then select Sign Out.

Alcova signs that device out and removes it from the list. Anyone using that browser must sign in again.

To sign out of the device you are using now, select your name at the bottom of the sidebar, then select Sign Out.

Change your password

If your account can sign in with a password, Security also shows a Password section.

  1. In Password, select Update. If you have not set a password yet, select Set Password.
  2. If you have a password, enter it in Current Password.
  3. Enter your new password in New Password and again in Confirm Password.
  4. Select Update Password, or Set Password.

The button stays unavailable until both new password fields match.

Delete your account

Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be undone. Alcova removes all your data, including your meetings, templates and settings.

  1. In Danger Zone, select Delete Account.

  2. Type delete my account in the box.

  3. Select Delete Account.

If you are an admin

If you are an admin of an organisation that has other members, you cannot delete your account. Danger Zone explains why and Delete Account is unavailable.

To delete your account, do one of these first:

  • Ask another admin to change your role to Member. You cannot change your own role. See Change someone's role.
  • Remove the other members of your organisation. See Remove someone.

If something goes wrong

  • "Failed to revoke session. Please try again." Alcova could not sign the device out. Select Dismiss, then try again.
  • "Verification was cancelled. Please try again." Alcova asked you to confirm your identity and you closed the request. Try again and complete the check.
